Encaustic wax and ink on paper

A collection developed from observations and memories of seaweed swirling in the sunlight at the edge of rock pools on many different seashores.

The plant like fronds of these shapes were determined by the layers of wax, laid with a large iron manipulated with heat, finally swirls of ink flooded over the cooled wax colouring the unwaxed ground.
